Gold and silver are the most well-known material for making this jewelry. But it can be made of wood, platinum, shell, etc. The decorative motifs is varied the plants, stars, stripes, and others.

This jewelry is always worn in every occasion as a part of Indian jewelry sets. It can be worn in groups, in different colors, or just a single piece. A thick bangle which is worn as a single piece is named Kangan. Some men wear a single bangle on the arm called as Kada or Kara.

A bride in the southern part of India is typically gone for broad, intricately patterned and heavy gold bangles. But in other areas of India, some women wear the glass or ivory bangles in red and white to keep with traditional and religious requirements.

This jewelry has a popular name, Baju Bandh. It is a traditional jewelry that has become very stylish recently. It was worn by the men and women to look beautiful. It shaped like a creepers, crocodiles and snakes. In south India, armlet is used as a part of wedding and traditional dances. In the north, it is worn as a symbol of marriage.
