These jewelries have been worn by mostly women since hundred years ago. Like other jewelry, it is mostly made of gold and silver. In southern India, most girls – before they are five years old – get their ears pierced in a religious ceremony.

On a wedding ceremony, the woman wears dangling earrings. The earrings that have the same pattern as the necklace are heavily ornate and usually studded with precious stones.

Nose Ring
Known as Nath, Nathni, Koka and Laung, this nose rings is just as simple as common ring. It has a long chain, attached to the nose ring. Holding the nose ring in place, the chain is hooked the jewelry in the hair above the ear. It is necessary for a girl to get her nose pierced.

A small circular ball or small stone shaped Indian nose pins is usually fitted to a screwed thin pole from inside the nostril. On a wedding ceremony, the bride wears the beautiful golden nose ring (Nath). Among all the jewelry, the noses ornament perhaps the most seductive, because the people believe that there is a close connection between the nose and the sexual reflexes.
